John Lulay

John A. Lulay (52) passed away on December 17, 2025 in Sedona, Arizona.

John was born on August 6, 1973, in Jamestown to Bob and Alma (Schlager) Lulay.

At the age of 9 the family moved to Wimbledon, ND. He established life-long friends, both students and teachers graduating from Wimbledon High School in 1991.

He attended college earning a degree in Elementary Education from VCSU.

After college he moved to Fargo and worked various jobs before starting his insurance sales career. First with interstate trucking insurance and then onto homeowners and business policies. He enjoyed sales.

John found his calling and a new group of friends when he accepted a position with Microsoft, again in sales and service.

Welding art was a second calling, sometimes a hobby and sometimes a distractor. Selling pieces at specialty shops in Fargo and then selling his own pieces to individuals. He continued this hobby in Sedona attracting many followers.

John, with his children, moved to Sedona in July of 2022.

An important part of his life was attending his AA meetings, very devoted, he rarely missed a meeting. In his 12 years of sobriety, he was a sponsor, mentor, leader and a good friend to those who needed one.

John is survived by his children Pasha and Jacob. Parents Bob and Alma Lulay. Sister Lisa (Lance) Thoreson and nephew Jared Richter.

John is preceded in death by his sister Chrstine, grandparents and several aunts and uncles. And many friends that have gone before him.

Memorial Service- 11:00 AM Friday, June 19, 2026 at Haut Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.

Interment- Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
