Elta Schauer

Elta Olivia Schauer, 101, Jamestown, ND, passed away as the clock struck midnight, Monday, April 20, 2026, at Eventide Care Center, Jamestown, where she had resided for 11 years.

Elta was born March 12, 1925, on the family farm SW of Streeter, ND to William and Margaret (Trautman) Wentz. She attended the local rural school and then Streeter High School. In 1944, Elta moved with her parents to Streeter, where she worked as a store clerk until her marriage to Allan J. Schauer, September 25, 1949, at Streeter.

Elta and Allan farmed for 50 years on Allan's farm home, NW of Streeter. Allan went to be with the Lord, August 7, 1991. Elta continued to live on the farm until 1998 when she married Milton Iszler and move to the Gackle area. Milton passed away May 18, 2012. Elta then moved into the Streeter Housing apartments until 2015 when she to Eventide, Jamestown.

Elta was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Streeter, the Ladies Worship Association, the Streeter American Legion Auxiliary and was active in the Streeter Senior Center. She was very active in helping with the Streeter Buffalo suppers for years.

Elta was preceded in the death by her husbands, Allan Schauer and Milton Iszler, her parents, all five of her brothers and sisters-in-laws, Edward and Marie Wentz, Curt and Alice Wentz, Ervin and Alice Wentz, Elmer and Tillie Wentz, Rueben and Helen Wentz, and several Nieces and nephews.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service for Elta will be Monday, April 27, 2026, 11 AM, Haut Funeral Home, 1101 5th Ave NE. Pastor Bryce Tahran will officiate. Burial will follow in the Streeter City Cemetery, Streeter, ND.
