Manuela Cruff, Jamestown, ND, formerly Valley City, ND, died Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at her home in Jamestown.
Manuela was born January 9, 1939, at El Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain, the daughter of Francisco and Mercedis Ruiz. She grew up in El Porto, attending and completing high school at the local Catholic School.
She and Ronald Cruff, Sr. were married August 20, 1966, in Spain. Ron was in the Navy, so the family moved often, Manuela was a stay-at-home mom; following his retirement from the Navy they settled in Valley City, ND.
Manuela enjoyed knitting, baking her Spanish cookies, and embroidering her dish towels. One of her major accomplishments was becoming a US citizen.
Manuela is survived by her children, Jesus (Yvonne) Cruff, Fargo, ND; Judy (Tom) Huisenga, Jamestown, ND; and Mary Stearns, Valley City, ND; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Angeles Ruiz; and two brothers, Manuel Ruiz and Luis Ruiz.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two children Robert ‘Bobby’ and Ronald Cruff, Jr.
No services are scheduled; interment will take place at the Woodbine Cemetery in Valley City, at a later date.
