Garnet Krueger

Obituary

Garnet Renea Krueger, 72, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and a deep devotion to her family.

Born on April 27, 1953, in Carrington, North Dakota, Garnet was the daughter of Peter J. and Leona May (Myers) Flemmer. She grew up in the central North Dakota landscape she loved, graduating from Pettibone High School in 1972. Shortly after, on December 8, 1972, she married the love of her life, Donald "Donnie" Krueger. The couple began their life together in Robinson before moving to Jamestown, where they raised their family and built a community of friends over several decades. In 2022, Garnet and Donnie moved to Bismarck to begin their next chapter.

Garnet was a pillar of the Collins Aerospace (formerly UTC Aerospace) team in Jamestown for 42 years. Throughout her tenure, she held multiple positions, but her impact went far beyond her daily tasks. She was a dedicated volunteer with the Employee Association, frequently organizing events that brought her colleagues together. Her spirit of service extended into the community, where she spent many hours volunteering with cancer patients, offering comfort and support to those in need.

Outside of work, Garnet found joy in the simple and beautiful. She was an avid landscaper and crafter, and she loved the peace of the outdoors—whether camping, boating, or simply spending time with her family. Her greatest pride, however, was her role as a grandmother. She was a constant fixture at her grandchildren’s sporting events, always their most enthusiastic cheerleader.

Garnet lived by the principle that one should "help the helpless whenever you can." She also left behind a final, practical piece of wisdom for the outdoorsmen in her life: "Never use a duck call when deer hunting."

She is survived by her husband, Donnie; her children, Everett Krueger, Jeromy (Jill) Krueger, and Ryan (Amanda) Krueger; her cherished grandchildren: Cassandra Rowell, Sophie Dilocker, Reed, Luke, Brennon, Ellie, and Brady Krueger; and her cherished great grandchildren: Paxton Dilocker and Addilynn Schlager. She also leaves behind her siblings, Sharon (Larry) Hesch, Colleen (Irvin) Guthmiller, and Larry (Delores) Flemmer; sisters-in-law Jackie (John) Henderson, Joanne Krueger, and Karen (Lynn) Flemmer; brothers-in-law Leroy (Kelly) Krueger and Jimmie White; and 22 nieces and nephews.

Garnet was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Leona Flemmer; her siblings, Yvonne Young, Sonja Schumacher, and Lynn Flemmer; her nephew Scott Schaffer and niece Stacey Young; her in-laws, Lloyd and Caroline Krueger, Clifford Young, Larry Hesch and Irvin Guthmiller; and her granddaughter, Chloe Krueger.
