Obituary

Paul Bryan Dillenberg of Jamestown, North Dakota, passed into eternity on January 9, 2026, in Jamestown, North Dakota at the age of 65. Paul was born in Great Falls, Montana, on August 8, 1960, to Joan (Schweitzer) Dillenberg and Wilfred Dillenberg. He resided in Jamestown, North Dakota and was a retired pharmacist.

Paul knew how to live. He travelled to Machu Pichu, climbed half dome at Yosemite, and camped under the stars at Big Bend. Yet, his biggest feat will always be the way he could make you feel like you were the most important person in the world. He brought life to any room. Even if you didn’t want to talk, Paul would do the talking for you. Whether it be to discuss his many travels, his treasure walks, or the movie he had just watched; Paul could find conversation in any situation. If you needed someone, Paul was there in voice or spirit. He was a loyal son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Paul is survived by his mom, Joan; brother, Mark; stepsisters Joletta, Cheryl, and Karla; stepbrother Clyde; many nieces and nephews; his wonderful friends; and his beloved cat, Baby. He was loved and we will always treasure the time we got to share with him.

There will not be a memorial service. We ask that you share your memories with each other and keep his spirit alive in your hearts. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church; Jamestown Regional Medical Center’s Foundation; James River Humane Society; or Orphan Grain Train.

I was deeply saddened to learn that Paul had passed away. We worked together many years ago at Harris HEB in Texas, along with Debbie and several other wonderful people. Unfortunately, after we both moved, I lost touch with Paul and made several unsuccessful attempts over the years to look him up. I now realize I had been spelling his last name incorrectly—something he would have undoubtedly met with a witty quip followed by his fantastic laugh. I always enjoyed working with Paul and occasionally spending time together outside the hospital. Although his time here ended far too soon, it brings me comfort to see that he lived a full and adventurous life. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

He was my Paulie and I loved him. Paul was the funniest and most genuine person I have known. Mom, he adored you. Debbie
