At about 6:30 on the night Arnold's soul passed into the next dimension, his sister-in-law, Jean, as she promised, notified me.
Naturally the first thing I felt was sadness and a deep sense of loss, but then I thought of all the "good" things about it!
First of all, as I'm sure everyone is thinking, 'he's no longer suffering.' Secondly, I believe our souls live on and he's now experiencing a kind of joy and peace we earthly humans are incapable of even imagining.
My beloved best friend, Dale, unexpectedly predeceased him by only 15 weeks & three days. Dale and Arnold were exceptionally close, and I'm now imagining them being joyously together again, along with other loved ones who have gone before.
I'm so glad I made the trip to Jamestown & the farm in Adrian just ten days ago to visit Arnold one last time. I think he was glad, too. It meant a lot to me, as this was the brother I got to know and love through Dale.
On a very positive note, Arnold was a remarkably talented and respected individual who lived a long, happy life. He had a great sense of humor and even was able to come out with a few one-liners that made me laugh during our last visit! He and Dale will always be 'with me' in spirit... I will think of them often.

Always a delight to me. I enjoyed the times we visited on the phone. He always called his niece. He never failed to mention his plan to come to Texas for a visit. My heart is heavy and with that said...Uncle Babe, we will visit behind the pearly gates with my Dad, Lyle (Bud) and Uncle Dale. What a crazy time that will be.
