I am so sorry, but I missed Mabel's obit in last Monday's Forum. I had an early Dr. appointment, so I must have read the paper too fast. I remember the years when we visited with your mom & dad before either of us had children. My fondest memory is of the wedding gift they gave us. It was a cute baby piggy. We named her "Petinia" & we tamed her. When she grew up she delivered 15 babies. They were born just before George was born. Fritz was in Jamestown that day but I checked on her & watched them all come into the world. She was comforted by my voice. They were so cute & fun to watch.That was a wonderful Wedding gift!! Petunia knew her name & one time when Sara's brother was visiting, he was near the fence between the 2 farms where Putunia & the babies were near & heard Fritz call "Putunia" - she raised her head - gave a grunt - looked at the farm (there was a creek between farms, but must have been low tide,) because she quickly came home with all the babies trailing along behind. Yes, your folks were good people. Your mom was the last of the family & I am the only Fode in-law left. You gave her good care. And now you can get to the next chapter of your lives.
