Lawrence Peyton, 53, Jamestown, ND died Monday May 1, 2006 at Mercy Hospital in Valley City, ND.

Lawrence Peyton was born March 29, 1953 at Chicago, IL, the son of Lawrence Peyton and Evelyn (Diadle) Payton. He received his elementary education and graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago. He worked in a furniture factory building furniture.

He and Maria Hontiveros were married December 15, 1990 at Nasipit, Philippines. He made his home on Sioux Falls, SD, later moving to Jamestown, ND.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and the International Toast Masters.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia (Kelly) Pfarr, Hannaford, ND, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Friday May 5, 2006 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND, with Rev. Newton Trimmer, officiating.

Arrangements are with the Haut Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND

Visitation: 9-8 Thursday at the Funeral Home.

I met Larry many years ago when I was cashiering at Hugo's. His gruff exterior & personality, I admit, scared me at first. As I got to know him, though, he was a really great person inside! I am so glad I got to know that 'other side' of him; a side that I don't think many people knew of him, or even realized he had. I talked to him a couple of months ago & learned of his illness. I was really saddened as I believe he had a lot to give and maybe even teach others. I will miss seeing him around town, but most of all, I will miss MY friend.
