Barbara Nelson, 50, Fargo, ND died Saturday June 17 2006 at her home in Fargo, ND.

Barbara Thorson was born April 14, 1956 at Fargo, ND, the daughter of Robert Thorson and Beverly (Grindberg) Thorson. She attended the Jud Public School. In 1973 she moved with her parents to Jamestown.

She attended Jamestown College where she met Jeffery Nelson. She and Jeff were married January 28, 1978 at Jamestown, ND. They made their home in Jamestown where she was a homemaker, but also worked at Polar King part time. She also went back to Jamestown College and received her degree in education. In 1989 they moved to Hurdsfield where she taught elementary school until 1997 when they moved back to Jamestown and she taught school at Spiritwood School for 1 year. In 2000, they bought the Pantry Cafe and operated the cafe until 2004 when she and Jeff were divorced and she moved to Fargo and worked for the Pepsi Company.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown.

She is survived by her children, Andrea (Jacob) Johnson, Elk River, MN, William (Samantha Russell) Nelson, Fargo, ND, 3 sisters and 2 brothers, Pamela (Wayne) Pfaff, Jud, ND, Roberta Brown, Jamestown, ND, Leonard Thorson, Bismarck, ND, Daniel (Darcy) Thorson, and Kenya Knoblock, all of Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her father, 1 daughter (Nellie Ann), and 1 sister (Gloria Thompson).

The memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday June 21, 2006 at the Haut Funeral Homes in Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating. There will be a lunch after the service at the Women's Club Rooms at 210 3rd St SW in Jamestown.

I'm so sorry for your loss!! I was so shocked to hear Barb had died. She was such a great person, she made me laugh every time i was around her.We had talked about having a BBQ this summer. She was going to bring her guitar and play for us. I'm soooo sad that it will never happen! I will miss her very much! God Bless!

BARB WAS A GREAT PERSON. I ENJOYED'WORKING WITH HER AND HAVE HER TO VISIT. SHE WAS GOING TO GIVE MY DAUGHTER LESSONS ON THE GUITAR . I HOPE THAT SHE WILL HAVE THOSE LESSONS BUT THEY WILL BE FOR BARB. MANY GOOD REMEMBERS OF YOUR MOM.. OUR PRAYS OUR WITH YOU. YOUR FRIEND JOYCE .

Aunty Bev, Pam, Roberta, Leonard and Danny ~ I am so sorry I could not attend Barb's service. I was in Colorado and did not get back home until today. Mom and dad told me and I shed tears knowing that we lost a member of our family. I was going to contact Barb while I was still in Fargo, before moving to Mpls, and will now regret not having done that. One should always listen to their spirit. Pammy, Roberta, who ever of family may check, please feel free to write me. I miss you all, and do not wish to continue to have tmie pass without our connecting. I love you all, think of you, and had already spoken to Cary about us cousins trying to get together. My spirit knows Barb is peaceful, with your dad, Gloria and her daughter.
