Vernon Knoll

Vernon Knoll, 80, Wishek, ND died Monday morning September 11, 2006 in the Wishek Home for the Aged.

Vernon Knoll was born March 19, 1926 at Venturia, ND in McIntosh County, the son of Peter P. Knoll and Rosa (Schaffer) Knoll. In October of 1927 he moved with his parents to a farm 11 miles north of Lehr, ND. He received his elementary education in the local rural school and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he helped on the family farm 11 miles North of Lehr.

He and Esther Schauer were married January 9, 1949 at Wishek, ND.
They made their home on the Knoll family farm raising grain and cattle, dairying and raising purebred Suffolk Sheep which was his pride and joy selling breeding stock and showing at the Fairs where he received many ribbons and trophies. Following their retirement in 1996 they continued to reside on the farm until they moved into Wishek.

He was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church at Lehr, ND, served as trustee, usher, deacon and church treasurer for over 25 years.

Surviving is his wife Esther, Wishek, ND, 1 daughter, Helen Jesen, Fort Collins, CO, 1 son, Rene Knoll, Minco, OK, 2 grandchildren, Steven and Kristin Jensen, 1 sister, Leona Schauer, Wishek, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday September 15, 2006 in the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Lehr, ND with Rev. Dan Pelletier, officiating.

The interment will be made in the Lehr City Cemetery at Lehr, ND
Arrangements are by the Haut Funeral Homes in Wishek, ND.
