Obituary

Ernest Domke, 84, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday evening January 31, 2007 at the Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND.

Ernest Domke was born August 3, 1922 at Gackle, ND the son of Fred Domke and Hilma (Koehler) Domke. He received his elementary education in Gackle graduating from Gackle High School in 1941 and grew to manhood where he helped on the family farm South of Gackle.

He entered the United States Army January 26, 1945 at Fort Snelling, MN. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and Japan. He was discharged November 23, 1946 at Fort Lewis, WA, with the rank of T/5

He and Viola Gienger were married September 4, 1949 at Gackle, ND. They made their home in Fargo, Edgeley and in 1957 moved to Gackle where they operated the Dry Cleaners. In 1960 they moved to Jamestown where he was employed at the North Dakota State Hospital. Following his retirement in 1988 he continued to reside in Jamestown. In October of 2003 he entered Hi-Acres Manor where he has resided.

He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND.

Surviving are his wife, Viola, Jamestown, ND, 1 daughter, Cheryl Dewald, Jamestown, 1 son Keith (Sally) Domke, all of Jamestown, ND, 5 grandchildren, 1 brother Kermit Domke, Denver, Co,

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday February 6, 2007 in St. Johns Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND, with Rev. Doug Opp officiating.

Interment will be made in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND
Visitation 9-9 Monday at the Funeral Home
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Monday evening at the Funeral Home
