Arthur Dockter, 87, Wishek, North Dakota died early Tuesday February 6, 2007 at the Wishek Home for the Aged in Wishek, ND.

Art Dockter was born November 13, 1919 at Streeter, ND, the son of John F. Dockter and Barbara (Schaffer) Dockter. He attended the local rural school and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he worked on the family farm.

He and Irene Donat were married November 12, 1944 in Streeter, ND. They made their home on the family farm home south of Streeter until he entered the Wishek Home for the Aged December 15, 2005. Irene passed away December 20, 2006.

He was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Streeter, ND. Art is a Life member of Eagles #2337. He served on the ND Sunflower Council, Logan County FHA Committee. He was chair of St. Lukes Lutheran Church for nine years, president of Streeter Co-op Oil Co., Logan County Weed Board and Streeter Lions Club. He was also recognized for his outstanding service to the community.

He is survived by 1 son, Clydell (Mary) Dockter, Streeter, ND, 2 grandsons, Shane (Tina) Dockter, Bismarck, ND, Brandon Dockter, Streeter, ND, 1 great granddaughter, Demy, and 3 brothers, Rev. Emil (Adeline) Dockter, Surprise, AZ, Adam (Dolly) Dockter, Elmer (Virginia) Dockter, 1 sister, Rose (Percy) Horst and 1 sister-in-law, Doris Dockter, all of Bismarck, ND,

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife, 1 brother Adolph, 1 sister Ann and a sister in infancy, Bertha.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday February 10, 2007 in St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Streeter, ND, with Rev. Brandon Woodruff, officiating.

Interment will be made in St. Lukes Lutheran Cemetery at Streeter, ND.

Visitation 9-9 Friday at the Funeral Home in Gackle.

I'm sorry about the loss of your dad and Mom so close to each other. I wish that our family had have had the chance over the years to be with each other more but the miles kept us from it. The trip that Art made to Georgia was remembered by us all. We enjoyed it so much. That is one thing that we can say that we remember about our Uncle Art. Hopefully time and distance won't keep us from having such few memories in the near future. We'd love to have your family to come to Georgia. God Bless

Clydel, Mary and family. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father and was still getting over the shock of your mom's unexpected passing. Both Art and Irene were good friends of my parents. Irene and my mom were huge fisher women and I remember them going fishing many early mornings (always too early for me). Both your father and mother will be missed not only as friends of my family but I'm sure they will be greatly missed as members of the Streeter community.
