Gerhardt (Gertie) was and will always be fondly remembered as one of my "special uncles". When I think of Gertie, I recall that he was a bit mischievous and had a great sense of humor. Grandma Dewald always had to worry any time Uncles Gertie, Chuck and Ron got together! I recall how he encouraged me to further me education when I graduated from Streeter High and he saw to it that I got a loan that enabled me to do that. I am eternally grateful to him for that help. Although he will be sorely missed by his family and many friends, I know, in my heart, that he has left his earthly home and life's struggle and is reunited with family members who have gone before him. It was a pleasure having you in my life Gertie. All my love forever. Your neice... Linda
