Obituary
Elmer Meidinger, 83, Wishek, ND died early Friday morning March 16, 2007 in the Wishek Home for the Aged.
Elmer Meidinger was born August 29, 1923 in rural McIntosh County, west of Wishek, ND, the son of Jacob and Christina (Schwenk) Meidinger. He grew up on the family farm and received his elementary education in the rural McIntosh Country Schools. He continued to work on the family farm and in the area for various farmers.
He and Luella Hochhalter were married October 19, 1947 at Ashley, ND. Following their marriage, they continued to farm in McIntosh and Logan Counties until 1993 when they retired and moved into Wishek. In January of 2007 he entered the Wishek Home for the Aged.
He was a member of the St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Wishek.
He is survived by his wife, Luella, Wishek, ND, 2 sons, Bruce (Tammy) Meidinger, Wishek, ND, Don (Tammie) Meidinger, Bismarck, ND, 3 granddaughters, Melissa (Ty) Shope, Bismarck, ND, Sara (Zach) Gross, Wishek, ND, Kristin Meidinger, Wishek, ND, 1 step granddaughter, Chastity (Hamid) Al-Zayhadi, Lincoln, NE, 1 step grandson, Chad Stalcup, Norfolk, VA, 5 great grandchildren, Blaine, Reagen & Kenady Gross, Wishek, ND, Abigal & Hayden Shope, Bismarck, ND, 7 step grandchildren, Levi, Skyler, Chandler, Kaden, Mason, Amir of Nebraska, Gavin of Viriginia and 2 sisters, Martha Lutz, Erna (William) Kidroski, both of Lodi, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers, Adolph, Edward, August, Reinhold, Alvin, Paul, John & Ben, 3 sisters, Leah, Eva and Olga.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday March 19, 2007 in the St. Lukes Lutheran Church at Wishek, ND, with Pastor Brandon Woodruff, officiating.
The interment will be made in the St. Lukes Lutheran Cemetery at Wishek, ND.
