Clara Babitzke, 84, Fargo, ND died Sunday morning June 3, 2007 at the Elim Care Center in Fargo, ND.
Clara Hoffman was born March 20, 1923 at Venturia, ND, the daughter of John Hoffman and Emma (Sayler) Hoffman. She attended the local school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
She and Albert Babitzke were married November 1, 1940 at Eureka, SD. They farmed in the Ashley and Fredonia areas before moving to the farm 6 miles south of Gackle for 1 year. In 1950 they moved to a farm 2 miles south of Alfred where they farmed until moving into Gackle. Following the death of husband July 29, 2000, she continued to reside in Gackle until 2001 when she moved to Fargo, ND.
She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle.
She is survived by her 2 children, Larry (Miriam) Babitzke, St. Cloud, MN, Linda Martin, Fargo, ND, 2 grandchildren, Theresa and Michael, 1 brother, Fred (Bertha) Hoffman, Grand Meadow, MN, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday June 10, 2007 in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Gackle, ND, with Pastor Russ Pollock, officiating.
