Norman J. Miller, Gackle, ND died Friday afternoon June 22, 2007 at his home in Gackle,, ND.
Norman J. was born February 18, 1934 on the family farm near Gackle, the son of Joseph P. Miller and Christine (Kammerer) Miller. He attended the local rural school in Ketterling Township and grew to manhood on the family farm 13 miles SW of Gackle, ND
He and Edris DeWitt were married June 13, 1954 at the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle, ND. Norman and Edris farmed from 1954 to 1991. He then was employed with the Logan County Highway Dept until he retired in 1998. Following their retirement they have continued to reside in Gackle, ND.
He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle. He was a member of the Gackle Fire Dept, having served as fire chief for 3 years. Norman also was township assessor for 18 years. Norman enjoying gardening, playing cards, spending time with his grandchildren and ice cream treats at the Gackle Tastee Freez.
Surviving are his wife, Gackle, ND, his children, Barbara (Ardell) Schmidt, Gackle, ND, Tracy Miller, Bismarck, ND, Rosalyn (Bruce) Buck, Fargo, ND, Nona (Steven) Blaisdell, Beulah, ND, Kyle (Sarah) Miller, Bismarck, ND, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 step-grand-daughters, 5 step great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Leona (Reuben) Klundt, Gackle, ND and Alice (LeRoy) Buck, Streeter, ND and special friend Frank Bosch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandson, Cole Michael Buck, 3 sisters and 1 brother, Pauline, Eileen, Janet and Donald
The funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday June 24, 2007 in the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle, ND with Rev. Timothy Blackman, pastor officiating.
Prayer Service: 4:00 PM (SUNDAY) at the Church in Gackle. Visitation 9-9 Monday at the Funeral Home in Gackle Interment will be made in the Gackle Cemetery, Gackle, ND
