Clifford Flegel, 84, Jamestown, ND died Thursday August 23, 2007 at the Central Dakota Village in Jamestown, ND.

Clifford Flegel, son of Reynhold and Leah (Roloff) Flegel, Jamestown, ND, was born December 11, 1922 in McIntosh County, attended Dickinson State Teachers College, enlisted in the United States Army and served 3 years during World War II. He graduated from Bismarck Junior College, entered the life insurance business, married Jeannette Klusmann September 25, 1949 at Bismarck, ND and settled in Carrington, beginning a career in the insurance and real estate business and owns the Carrington Tree farm.

He served as president of the Jaycees and the chamber of commerce in 1959. He instrumented the beginning of the Foster County historical Society and organized the North Dakota 7th Calvary Regiment and formed a local C company, Calvary unit in Carrington. He was an active member in the American Legion, Veteran's of Foreign Wars and was appointed Foster County Veteran's Service Officer in 1959. They later moved to Jamestown for their retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette, Lander, WY, 3 children, Dan (Ginny) Flegel, Kelso, WA, Tom Flegel, Indianapolis, IN, Nancy Seiler, Lander, WY, 6 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Dorothy Urban, Bismarck, ND, and Jeannette Ann Dorman, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 sister, Vera Weispfenning.

The memorial service will be at 12:00 noon Monday August 27, 2007 at the Lakeside Marina Camp Ground by Jamestown reservoir.

I once worked at an office supply store back in Jamestown for 5 years and Cliff was always coming in for copies. He was such a great man! He will be truly missed. God bless him and his family.

Jeanette, Roberta and I were saddened to hear about Uncle Cliffs passing. Although we do not often see our extended family ,you are frequently in our thoughts, (I always enjoyed discussing politics with Cliff) We are thankful for the time we were able to be together at the Klusmann reunion, We will keep your family in our prayers Lon and Roberta Klusmann

Cliff was a very special guy, he always put a smile on peoples faces. He would come to see me at the office and always call me Miss America. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this sad time.
