Obituary
Jeanette Oelke, 74, Fargo, ND died Friday morning March 14, 2008 at the Villa Maria in Fargo, after a long battle with cancer.
Jeanette Nitschke was born April 13, 1933 at the family farm home near Fredonia, ND, the youngest of 11 children born to Christian and Louise (Hildenbrandt) Nitschke. She attended the Fredonia Public School and graduated from Kulm High School in 1951 and taught school for 3 years.
She and LeRoy Oelke were married October 24, 1954 at Fredonia, ND. They made their home on the Oelke homestead 2 ½ miles NW of Fredonia where they farmed. She entered the Villa Maria in November of 2007.
She was a member of the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Fredonia, taught Sunday School, and participated in ALCW.
She is survived her husband, LeRoy Oelke, Fredonia, ND, 2 children,
Rhonda (Terry) King, Fargo, ND, Bruce Oelke, Fredonia, ND, 3 grandchildren, Christopher King, Devils Lake, ND, Joshua King, Fargo, ND, Allison King, Fargo, ND, 3 sisters, Lorraine George, Puyallup, WA, Leona (Art) Schlenz, Jamestown, ND, Elsie (Lorence) Ketterling, Renton, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday March 18, 2008 in the Martin Luther Lutheran Church at Fredonia, ND, with Rev. Russ Pollock, officiating.
