Kerry L. Schlenker, 41, Alfred, ND died Monday evening September 1, 2008 at the MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Kerry Lee Schlenker was born October 13, 1966 at Jamestown, ND, the son of Joseph Schlenker and Olassa (Elsie) (Welygan) Schlenker. He received his elementary education in Gackle and graduated from the Gackle High School in 1984.

Following his schooling he farmed with his parent east of Alfred.

He attended the Church of God 7th Day in Alfred, ND. He was a member of the Volunteer Fire Dept, the Township Board and the North American Hunting Club. Kerry loved hunting, fishing and enjoyed taking photographs of wildlife. He also enjoyed his cattle and bird watching.

Surviving are his mother Elsie, Alfred, ND, two sisters and one brother, Debbie (Mike) Vlad, Denver, CO, Betty Jo (Bill) Goldammer, Wing, ND and Tim Schlenker, Wichita, KS.

He was preceded in death by his father in 2001.

Funeral Service will be at 1:30 PM Sunday September 7, 2008 in the Church of God 7th Day in Alfred, ND with Pastor Stephen J. Kyner, officiating.
Burial will be take place in the Church of God Cemetery NW of Jud, ND.
Visitation 9-5 Friday and 9-8 Saturday at the funeral home and 1 hour before service on Sunday at the Church.

Dear Elsie and family, We are so sorry to hear the news about Kerry. He was such a nice man and I regret that I did not tell him more often how much I appreciated the great job he did with the sound system at church. You never heard Kerry complain. Dear Family and Friends of Kerry Schlenker: Kerry's life has been a testimony to so many. It is a tremendous blessing to have known him. We treasure the times we were able to share laughs with Kerry.
