I am shocked and saddened to have heard of Dan’s passing. Since May 1996 I have rented from Dan in his building with my business “Hellers Barbershop”. When I came to town, Dan was very welcoming to me and in the 28 years I’ve been here Dan was always kind and very nice. When we saw each other he was always polite and eager to talk for a bit. He was an outstanding landlord and many others could take lessons from him. I’ll never forget the last time I saw him was at Essensia Clinic. We were both waiting for our wives and him and I talked for about 35 minutes and it was such a nice and memorable conversation. My wife is disabled and he kindly told her to “Hang in there and keep doing in your best ability”. He was optimistic that way and I felt very touched that he said that to her. I have nothing but good things to say about Dan. My wife and I offer our deepest condolences to Dans family and they are in our prayers.

We were sorry to hear of Dan's passing. When I was a cub lawyer in Jamestown he always had an encouraging word, and I even brought my first copy of the Century Code from him when I struck out on my own from the Hjellum Firm. Bienheureux ceux qui pleurent car ils seront consolés. Our condolences. Bob Martin and Michael Ward of Minot.

Sorry to learn of Dan's death. We visited in his office a couple years ago, and he regaled me with stories of his childhood in Jamestown. I am sure he had a couple of open probate files right to the end. He was a great lawyer, and an even better man

I am sorry to hear of Dan's passing. I am fortunate to have known Dan professionally for the last 25 years. Dan was an excellent lawyer and he will be missed by many in the legal community. He was a true specialist, one of very few in the North Dakota Bar. Dan was always willing to mentor me when I was a young lawyer. He was generous with his time and talents.

So sorry to hear of Dan's passing. We had the privilege of working with Dan a couple of years ago after my dad's passing. He was a good friend to my dad and was very professional, caring and considerate during our difficult time. He will be missed by many!
