Obituary

Jeffrey Spitzer, 56, Jamestown, ND died early Thursday morning November 20, 2008 in the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Jeff Spitzer was born October 17, 1952 at Jamestown, ND the son of Lawrence ‘Bud' Spitzer and Shirley (Johnson) Spitzer. He received his elementary education in Kensal graduating from the Kensal High School in 1970. He then attended Devils Lake Regional College for one year.

He and Renee Sabinash were married June 8, 1973 at Kensal, ND. They made their home in Jamestown, ND. He was employed by Mellands, Inc. as a Mechanic for about 1 year. In 1973 he worked for Case Power and Equipment first as a Mechanic, Partsman to Salesman and then Manager until 1985. He started P.J. Nursery and Landscaping which his operated until he started Spitzer Construction which he owned and operated.

He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, a board member of the National Buffalo Museum, Mystics, Elks Lodge No. 995 and was a Boy Scout Leader in Jamestown, ND. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, spending time with grandchildren and "Saw Dust" therapy. He also enjoyed spending time with hunting friends at ‘Green Acres'.

He is survived by his wife, Renee, Jamestown, ND; 1 son, Wade (Amber) Spitzer; 2 daughters, Tracy (Dion) Dockter, Angela (Steve) McQueen, all of Jamestown, ND, 6 grandchildren, Zach, Dakotah, Ty Spitzer, Mason, Dylan Herr, Harlee McQueen, 1 step grandchild, Brandon Dockter, all of Jamestown, ND, his father, Bud, Kensal, ND; 3 brothers, Leon (Donna) Spitzer, Fargo, ND; Bruce Spitzer, Kensal, ND; Dana Spitzer, Kensal, ND; 2 sisters, Jill (Dennis) Bredahl, Spiritwood, ND; Sue (Dean) Miller, Lake Park, MN and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

The memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday November 23, 2008 in Concordia Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND with Rev. Thomas Eckstein, pastor officiating.
