Elmer Schweitzer

Dear Family of Elmer Schweitzer: Thank you for the time your family shared with me while I was teaching in Gackle, ND. Wow. We had a couple of staff gatherings at Elmer and Ida's place. I especially remember FHA experiences and the camping trip with Karla, Cheryl, and the other members when it rained and we went to Joletta's house in Jamestown. God be with you all. Sometimes memories is all that we have to hang onto . . . God's Blessings to all of the family

Joan and family, sorry to hear about the passing of Elmer. Going to miss his humor and wit. Our sympathies to you.

Joan and Family Elmer was a long time friend of my Dad's and when he became superintendent of Gackle my dad scared me of Elmer telling of this big gruff guy. I tell you I tried to my mind P's & Q's because there was NO way I was going to be sent to the Office. Later he became my insurance agent and then fellow employee and we became great friends. I'll always miss his great humor. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you.

We extend our sincerest sympathy and prayers with Joan and the family. It was with sadness we read the notice in the Forum today. Our memories of Elmer go back a ways to the college days when we lived in Valley city. It was quite a while after I (Marilyn) met Elmer that I specifically knew who the guys were talking about when they said they saw and talked with "Red Dog". A friend we will miss and think about with pleasant memories.

Joan and Family, My thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this time. I clearly remember the days that Elmer served the Gackle School District as superintendent.
