Obituary

Christine Klein Mueller died Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Wishek Retirement Home.

She was born to Jacob and Elizabeth Ackerman Klein in Wishek on March 31, 1913. She was the fifth of eight children. She attended the local rural elementary school. During her younger days, she stayed on the family farm for many years to help her mother who had poor health. In 1942, she joined several brothers who were employed at the Glen Martin Air Craft facility in Baltimore, Maryland. Following the war, she worked for social services in Washington, DC until her retirement.

In 1952 she met and married Frank Mueller who was also a native North Dakotan. Upon their retirement in the late 1980's, they returned to Frank's family farm in Pingree, North Dakota. In 1988, after Frank's death, Christine relocated to Wishek. For the past ten years, she enjoyed making her home at the Wishek Retirement Home. Throughout the years, Christine's family enjoyed her many stories of growing up, her extremely sharp memory and consistently positive attitude. She played piano by ear and enjoyed entertaining family and friends with her music.

Christine is survived by her brother, RR Klein and his wife, Jean, of Wishek, sister's-in-law Verna Klein, Wishek, ND Bertha Klein, Derby, KS and numerous extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank, her siblings Albert Klein (Ida), Eddie Klein (Hulda), Elmer Klein, Harold Klein, Lydia Junkert (Emil), and Emma Miller (Charles).

A celebration of Christine's life will be held on Wednesday, September 20th, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Wishek, ND, with Pastor Tammy Toepke-Floyd, officiating.

Interment will be made in the Wishek City Cemetery at Wishek, ND
Visitation 10-5 Tuesday at the Funeral Home and 1 hour before services on Wednesday at the church.
