Gary Fode

Gary R. Fode, 69, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday February 24, 2010 at the MeritCare Hospital at Fargo, ND.

Gary was born February 6, 1941 at Jamestown, ND, the son of Theodore Fode and Norma (Yetterboe) Fode. He attended school at Jud, ND where he received his elementary education graduating Valedictorian in 1959. He attended College for office machine repair in Wapheton for 2 years. He returned to Jamestown where he worked repairing office machines.

He entered the United State Army November 3, 1961 at Fargo, ND. He served overseas and was discharged October 26, 1963 with the rank of PFC

He and Mary (Geiger) Johnson were married January 24, 1966. He worked in various places repairing office machines and raising his 2 children and 3 step-children. He and Mary later divorced. He repaired office machines until his back injury in 1989. He went on to help raise his granddaughter Amber.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandkids. He also enjoyed going to coffee and visiting with his friends.

He is survived by his step children, Richard Johnson, Jamestown, ND; Vickie (Mark) Lura, Sanborn, ND; Jo Marie (Curt) Wiest, Jamestown, ND; 8 grandchildren, Amber Fode, Duane, Katrina, Evan and Larissa Wiest, all of Jamestown, ND, Austin and Collin Lura, Sanborn, ND and Haylee Otto, Medina, ND, 2 great grandchildren, Payton and Kayne Earnest, Jamestown, ND and his ex-wife, Mary, Jamestown, ND. Gary was patiently awaiting his 3rd great grandchild due in March.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Todd in 2005, 1 daughter, Terri in 2000 and his brother Kenneth in 1994.

The funeral service will be at 1:30 PM Monday March 1, 2010 in the Haut Funeral Home at Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.

The interment will be made in the Nortonville Cemetery at Nortonville, ND. (In Spring)

Visitation - 9-5 Saturday, 1-8 Sunday at the funeral home
Prayer service 7:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral home.
