Obituary
Myron H. Ehley, 78, beloved husband, father and grandfather of Ashley, ND died Friday June 11, 2010 at the Ashley Medical Center in Ashley, ND.
Myron was born May 14, 1932 on the family farm near Ashley, the son of Henry Ehley Jr. and Frieda (Babitzke) Ehley. He attended the local school and graduated from the Ashley High School in 1950. He entered the United States Air Force August 20, 1951 at Fargo, ND. He was discharged October 9, 1951 at Lackland Air Force Base, TX with the rank of Private.
He and Clara Wolff were married June 29, 1952 at Eureka, SD. They farmed NE of Ashley until 1954 when they moved into Ashley. He worked for the ND Highway Dept as surveyor in the engineering dept. until 1962. He also worked part time farming with his father. In 1963 he was elected as the McIntosh County Auditor and served until April 1971. He then became City Auditor for the City of Ashley which he held for over 25 years. He also had an abstract business and did income tax work.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Ashley. He was licensed abstractor and a member of the ND Land Title Association. He was a member of the Ashley Chamber of Commerce, served on the auditing committee for the ND League of Cities, Ashley City Council for 2 terms. He was McIntosh County March of Dimes chairman for many years, American Legion Treasurer for 1 term. He enjoyed playing cards, accordion music and watching sports on television. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of his 4 grandchildren and liked to talk about their fine accomplishments in school and sports.
Grateful for sharing his life are his wife, Clara, Ashley, ND; 1 daughter, Susan (Jon) Acord, West Linn, OR; 1 son, Ronald (Lori) Ehley, Zimmerman, MN; 4 grandchildren, Brianna & Blake Ehley, and twins, Jasmine & Sierra Accord, and 1 brother, Kenneth (Lauraine) Ehley, Port St. John, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday June 16, 2010 in the Zion Lutheran Church in Ashley, ND with Revs Sharon and Gayler Korsmo, officiating.
The interment will be made in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, South of Ashley.
Prayer Service: 7:30 PM Tuesday June 15, 2010 at the Church in Ashley.
Visitation - 5-7:30 PM Tuesday at the church.
