Marlene Cumber, 74, Jamestown, ND died Saturday July 10, 2010 at her home in Jamestown, ND.

Marlene was born May 28, 1936 at Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Wilbert Perleberg and Lena (Siebert) Perleberg. She attended Jamestown Public School and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.

She and Jack Cumber were married January 17, 1953 at Jamestown, ND. They made their home in various Cities around the United States while Jack was in the Army and she was a wonderful Army wife. In January of 1977 they moved back to Jamestown.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown.

She is survived by her husband, Jack, Jamestown, ND; 4 children, Jack Cumber Jr., Nashville, TN; Pam (Myron) Schepp, Jamestown, ND; Mark (Yong) Cumber, Winston Salem, NC; Michael (Julie) Cumber, Jamestown, ND; 6 grandchildren, David (Lisa) Schepp, Ashlee Cumber, Christopher Cumber, Michael Cumber Jr., Kaylee Cumber, Matthew Rudnick, 4 great grandchildren, Selena, Jacob, Ian, Gabriel Schepp.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister.

The memorial service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday July 14, 2010, in the St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Ruth Kaden officiating.

The interment will be made in the ND Veteran's Cemetery at Mandan, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.

I was sad to see Marlene's obit. I knew she had not been feeling well and seemed she could not get to feeling better. Now she is at peace. My thoughts and prayers to the family.

Marlene was a special woman. I loved the times when we would get together at her house. She was gracious to invite us many times. Whenever I would see her downtown she always had time to visit with me. I will miss her!

My prayers and thoughts are with you Jack and your children and their families. I was not aware that Marlene was ill. I've thought about you all many times through the years. Derick and I were just talking about all you guys. Marlene will not go unforgotten. Her spirit is here with us all and forever and our hearts. I'm sorry that I could not attend.
