Obituary

Shelly Hillius, 47, Jamestown, ND died Monday afternoon August 16, 2010 at the Jamestown, Hospital in Jamestown, ND.

Shelly Diede was born February 6, 1963 at Medina, ND, the daughter of Larry Diede and Grace (Kracht) Diede. She received her education and graduated from the Jamestown High School in 1981. She worked at the Jamestown Truck Plaza, later working for Haroldson's Office Supply.

She and David Hillius were married June 30, 1984 at Jamestown, ND. They made their home in Jamestown, ND where she worked as a 911 dispatcher from August 1990 until April of 1996, then working as a Records Clerk in 1996, becoming the Clerical Supervisor for the Jamestown Police Department.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was also an active member of the North Dakota Peace Officer Association. She enjoyed being a scrapbooking consultant for Close to my Heart. She was active with the High School Booster clubs and was also a Relay for Life Captain for Walz Pharmacy for 7 years.

She enjoyed time with her family and friends; attending her sons' sports events, scrapbooking with friends and photography. She also enjoyed spending time with her cat Andy, and walking.

She is survived by her husband David Hillius, Jamestown, ND; 2 sons, Garret Hillius, Colin Hillius, both of Jamestown, ND; 3 brothers, Rick (Kim) Diede, Jamestown, ND; Dean (Lanette) Diede, Jamestown, ND; Scott (Vicky) Diede, Jamestown, ND; 2 sisters, Sherry (Douglas) Sand, Jamestown, ND; Lori (Kelly) Fast, Roosevelt, MN; her parents, Larry and Grace Diede, Jamestown, ND; and her mother-in-law, Lorena Hillius, Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father-in-law, Eldo Hillius.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday August 19, 2010 at St. Johns Lutheran Church.

The interment will be at Highland Home Cemetery in Jamestown, ND.

Visitation: 1-8 Wednesday August 18, 2010 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown.
