Malvin ‘Curly' Zenker, 80, Gackle, ND died Thursday morning August 26, 2010 in Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND.

Malvin was born June 10, 1930 at the farm home west of Gackle, ND, the son of August and Christina (Siegle) Zenker. He attended school at Gackle and graduated from Gackle High School in 1949.

He and Mildred Sukut were married April 5, 1953 at Fredonia, ND. They made their home on the family farm west of Gackle where he farmed until retiring in 1995. He entered the Gackle Care Center November 6, 2008 and in 2009 in entered Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND where he has resided.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, and has served on the Church Council, Gackle Lions Club, a member of the Gackle School Board, Elevator Board and the ND Health Council.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred, Gackle, ND; 5 children, Joel Zenker, Gackle, ND; Corinne (Myron Gader) Zenker, Bismarck, ND; Sharlene (Ken) Gumke, Jamestown, ND; Warren (Linda) Zenker, Gackle, ND; Teresa (Jeremy) Nelson, Fargo, ND; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 sister, Vera (Leno) Schultz, Jamestown, ND, 1 sister-in-law, Marlene Zenker, Hot Springs Village, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 great granddaughter, Mercedes, 1 brother, Alton and 1 sister, Viona.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, August 30, 2010 in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Gackle, ND, with Rev. Linda Schauer, pastor officiating.

The interment will be made in the Gackle Cemetery at Gackle, ND.
Arrangements are by the Haut Funeral Homes in Gackle, ND.
Visitation - 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Saturday AND
1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. Sunday @ the funeral home in Gackle.
Prayer Service- 7:00 P.M. Sunday @ the church in Gackle

So very sorry to hear of Malvin's passing, the struggle has ended and he is whole again and resting in the arms of our Savior. I pray for your entire family as I well know what a struggle this has been.

Dear Millie and family, we were saddened to get Joel's e-mail that Curly had passed away yesterday. We will miss his wonderful smile and laugh. Even though we are sad we know he is reunited with Our Lord in heaven. More than likely he is telling stories, laughing, with those who have gone before.
