Nettie Entzminger, 90, Oakes, ND, Formerly of Gackle, ND, died Wednesday afternoon, September 22, 2010 at the Oakes Community Hospital in Oakes, ND.

Nettie K. Forsman was born June 1, 1920 in LaMoure County near Jud, ND, the daughter of Nels Forsman and Christine (Hanson) Forsman. She attended the local rural school while helping on the family farm and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.

She and Bernhardt "Bernie" Entzminger were married October 12, 1940 in LaMoure, ND. They made their home in the Valley City area until starting their own farm North of Kulm, ND. After Bernies military service, in 1946 they began farming 10 miles east of Gackle, ND. In March of 1957 they moved into Gackle where they owned and operated Bernie's Café. In 1959 they co-owned the B&M Grocery until the fall of 1960 when they took ownership of the Gackle Cleaners until retirement in 1980. Following the death of her husband in 1991 she continued to reside in Gackle until moving to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakes, ND in 2003

She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, the Baptist Gleaners, the American Legion Auxiliary, president of the Gackle Senior Citizens, a board member of Community Action, and the County Council for the Aging. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by 4 daughters, Mary Ann (Art) Remmich, Bismarck, ND; Betty (Larry) Graf, Mapleton, ND; JoAnn (Wilbert) Janke, Gackle, ND; Kay (Garry) Opp, Oakes, ND; 2 sons, Dean (Carol) Entzminger, Gackle, ND; Randy (Julie) Entzminger, Oaks, ND; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Entzminger, Gackle, ND; 18 grandchildren; 22great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 sister-in-law, Alma Forsman, Ellendale, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; 1 son, Dennis, 4 brothers, and 2 grandchildren.

The funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday September 27, 2010 at the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle, ND with Rev. Tim Blackman, officiating.

The interment will be made in the Swede Cemetery North of Kulm, ND.

Visitation:1-5 PM Saturday & 1-5 PM Sunday @ the funeral home in Gackle

Prayer Service: 7:00 P.M. Sunday @ the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle

To all of Netties families, my sincere sympathy to all of you. Of all the ND cousins, Nettie was the only one I had contact with over the years.So glad that Mary Ann keeps in touch with me too. We always want to keep our Mom with us forever, but that not being possible we can rest easy with the fact that she is in heaven watching down over us!!! A wonderful person and a delight to visit with!!!

All the Entzminger Family - My Deepest sympathy. Aunt Nettie was a Dear Lady with such a warm heart and love for her family. Now she is with our dear Lord watching over us.
