Obituary

Margie Ann Dockter, 79, of Medina, North Dakota, peacefully passed away at Sanford Medical Center of Fargo on Thursday, August 29th, 2024, with loved ones by her side.

Margie Ann Suko was born December 27, 1944, in Jamestown, ND. She was the daughter of Gotthilf and Leona (Remboldt) Suko. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school in Alexander Township until 1957. She started 7th grade at Gackle Public School and graduated in 1962.

Darrel and Margie were married on October 7th, 1962, at the Saint Luke Lutheran Church in Streeter, North Dakota. They resided on the Dockter family farm until 1977. At this time, they moved north of Jamestown, North Dakota. Margie worked at Dakota Bake and Serve from July of 1977 to August of 1989. In 1983, Margie and Darrel moved back out to the family farm north of Streeter, ND. On the farm, she worked side by side with Darrel, her son, Darcy, and daughter-in-law Tammy, milking cows and helping with their small grain operation. In 2003, Margie and Darrel got out of the milking business. From 2003 to 2015, Margie worked over in Dawson, ND, at Kidco Farms. From 2015 to 2019, she worked at the Care Center in Gackle, ND, in the kitchen as a cook.

Margie gave birth to two sons, Darcy Dean and Dion Darrel. She had a love of cooking and baking for her loved ones. A holiday never went by that didn’t include her famous strudels, pumpkin roll, and rhubarb dessert. She was certain no one ever left hungry. Margie took pride in her lawn and flowers, spending hours upon hours riding her John Deere mower. She was sure never to skip a spring cleaning in her house. Margie loved and cared for her family deeply. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids, showering them with love and presents. She made sure everyone had a birthday card and tote full of Christmas gifts. Margie loved nothing more than to entertain, especially her annual 4th of July picnic at the farm.

Margie is survived by her husband, Darrel, Medina, ND; two sons Darcy (Tammy) Dockter, Medina, ND; Dion (Bonnie) Dockter, Jamestown, ND; six grandchildren, Joshua (Heather) Dockter, Jamestown, ND; Jamie (Cory) Burkle, Fredonia, ND; Jessi Roemmich, Jamestown, ND; Janessa Dockter, Golden Valley, ND; Brandon (Caity) Dockter, Fargo, ND; Brekken Dockter, Bismarck, ND; Eight great-grandchildren, Coltyn and Bryson Dockter; Christian, Skyler, and Elora Burkle; Ramsey and Raylen Roemmich; Khaleesi Dockter; Four brothers and one sister, Duane Suko, Alfred, ND; Neil (Connie) Suko, Alfred, ND; Harley Suko, Streeter, ND; Myron “Joe” (Connie) Suko, Thief River Falls, MN; Myra Grenz, Bismarck, ND.
