Frieda Bertha Rau, 90, Napoleon, ND, formerly of Streeter, ND, died Friday morning October 15, 2010 at the Napoleon Care Center in Napoleon, ND.
Frieda Opp was born December 12, 1919 at Hazelton, ND, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Himmerich) Opp. She attended the rural school near her parent's farm in the flat area southwest of Streeter, ND.
She and Reinhold Rau were married October 23, 1938 near Streeter, ND. They farmed 4 miles north of Napoleon, ND for 6 years. In 1945 they purchased and moved to a farm 1 mile west of Streeter, ND.
After the death of her husband in 1992, she resided on the farm, than moved to Streeter, ND and on to Napoleon, ND until 2004 when she entered the Napoleon Care Center.
Frieda was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Streeter, ND, WELCA, Ladies Aid, and Streeter Senior Center.
She is survived by 1 son, Clinton (Bernice) Rau, Arvada, CO; 2 daughters, JoAnn (Leroy) Wieland, Streeter, ND; Norma (Gary) Nelson, Williston, ND; 2 brothers, Reinhold (Esther) Opp, Napoleon, ND; Arthur (Alice) Opp, Medina, ND; 1 sister-in-law, Genevieve Opp, Jamestown, ND; 7 grand children, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 4 brothers, Henry, August, Edward and Bennie Opp, 2 sisters, Ottillia Gehnert, and Lucille Opp.
The funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday October 22, 2010 in the St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Streeter, ND, with Pastor Zach Bey, officiating.
The interment will be made in the Lutheran Cemetery at Streeter, ND.
