Erwin Henne, 90, Jamestown, ND died early morning Monday November 1, 2010 at Even-tide at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown, ND.
Erwin Henne was born August 29, 1920 at the family farm near Alfred, ND, the son of Gottfried Henne and Dorothea (Fode) Henne. He attended the local country school and worked on the family farm.
He and Hilda Doering were married January 2, 1944 at Kulm, ND. They made their home on a farm near Alfred for 2 years and later ran a Grocery Store in Alfred for 2 years. In 1949 they moved to Marion, ND where they operated a Grocery Store for 36 years. In 1989 they moved to Jamestown. After the death of his wife in 2004 he continued to reside in Jamestown. He recently entered the Hi Acres Manor Nursing Home.
He was a member of the St. Pauls United Methodist Church in Jamestown, ND. He was an active member of the Germans From Russia Heritage Singers and the Jamestown Eagles 2337.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Eugene (Merrily) Henne, Argyle, MN, 1 grandson, Richard (Christine) Henne, Buffalo, MN, 3 great granddaughters, Heather, Kayla and Emma, all of Buffalo, MN, 2 brothers, Clarence Henne, Jamestown, ND, Lawrence Henne, Helena, MT; 1 sister, Esther Metz, Jamestown, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Hilda, 2 sisters and 1 brother, Edna, Ida and Nathaniel
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday November 5, 2010 at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Jamestown, ND with Rev. David Bambas, officiating.
The interment will be at Highland Home Cemetery in Jamestown, ND.
The arrangements are with the Haut Funeral Homes in Jamestown, ND.
