Obituary

Reinhold Otto, 85, Medina, ND died Saturday March 26, 2011 at the Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake, ND after a fight against cancer.

Reinhold was born July 28, 1925, south of Cleveland, ND, the son of Reinholt, Sr. and Pauline (Reister) Otto. He attended the local rural school where he received his elementary education and grew to manhood in the vicinity. He became a mechanic and engine tune-up specialist.

He and Dorothy Geohring were married October 29, 1947 at Gackle, ND. They made their home in Gackle where he worked as a mechanic for Ray Deutscher, Fred Wolf and Emil Schaffer. In 1953 they moved to Napoleon where he worked for Wentz Chevrolet and in 1955 they moved to Medina where he worked for Finn (Emil) Reule, Schauer Implement and Tip's Standard. He worked at Cenex in Jamestown also. He retired in 1987 and in March of 2011 he entered the Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake.

He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Medina. Reinhold loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy, Devils Lake, ND; 5 sons, Ronald (Sharon) Otto, Mandan, ND; Raymond (Jesse) Otto, Holmen, WI; Richard (Cathy) Otto, Devils Lake, ND; Leslie (Rene) Otto, Jamestown, ND; Lonnie (Sheila) Otto, Devils Lake, ND; 13 grandchildren, Carla, Heidi, Jesse, Raeann, Ryan, Casey, Samantha, Adam, Austin, Krystyna, Matthew, Danielle and Ashley; 8 great grandchildren, Berlyn, Madelyn, Devon, Alec, Allyson-Tyne, Ace, Taylor, and Jasen; 3 sisters-in-law, Joan Otto, Millarton, WI; Irene Otto, Medina, NDand Agnes Otto, Albany, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice and Kenneth Kline; Frieda and Joseph Brosz; 3 brothers, Gustave, Wilhelm and Norbert.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday March 31, 2011 in the Zion United Church of Christ in Medina, ND, with Rev. Karl Limvere, pastor officiating.

The interment will be made in the Medina Cemetery, Medina, ND

We would also like to thank the staff at Heartland Care Center and Hospice for taking good care of Dad.

Visitation: 9 - 8 Wednesday March 30, 2011 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown

Prayer Service: 5:30 PM at the funeral chapel in Jamestown.

It is with much sorrow and sadness that I must write this today, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. During these sad times, try and reflect on the moments of joy that you all shared together, as we continue on, these moments will become more frequent and you will smile and laugh in rememberance. Please take comfort in the fact that Norbert, Willie, Gus, Bernice, Freida and Reiny are once again together in the kingdom of God. Love you Uncle Reiny, miss you, one day we will all be together and we'll go watch baseball games like we used to. It is with deep regret that I am not able to attend the services, I am thinking of everyone and wishing peace finds your heart and comforts you.
