Martha Schweigert, 91, Lehr, ND died Saturday morning May 14, 2011 at the St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.
Martha Kanewischer was born December 25, 1919 at the family farm home 10 miles north of Lehr, ND, the daughter of William and Emma (Dallman) Kanewischer. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped the farm.
She and Wilbert Schweigert were married November 2, 1944 at Kulm, ND. They made their home on her family farm 10 miles north of Lehr where they have continued to reside.
She is survived by her husband, Wilbert, Lehr, ND; 4 children, LeRoy (Marian) Schweigert, Lehr, ND; Joyce Nelson, Lehr, ND; Denise (Gary Bertsch) Schweigert, Ashley, ND; Gary (Mary Lee) Schweigert, Mandan, ND; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Hilma Schweigert, Lehr, ND; Hilda (Roger) Bergstro, Waseca, MN; and Elsie Kroetch, Helena, MT.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 grandchildren, and 1 brother, Otto.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday May 17, 2011 in the Seventh-day Adventist Church at Lehr, ND, with Pastor Bob Forbes, officiating.
The interment will be made in the Lehr Cemetery, Lehr, ND.
Visitation - 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday @ the funeral home in Wishek
