Matthew Finck, 18, Jamestown, ND died Monday May 23, 2011 at Jamestown, ND.

Matthew was born December 6, 1992 at Jamestown, ND, the son of Perry Finck and Karen (Starkey) Finck. He received his elementary education in the St. John's Academy in Jamestown, ND. In 2007 he moved to California where he attended 9th and 10th grade at the Orion Academy in Moraga, CA, where he received the Athlete of the Year Award. He also attended classes at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA. While in California he ran in the Bay to Breakers Marathon with 10,000 people. In 2009 he moved back to Jamestown to attend Jamestown High School and was involved in cross country. He was one of 20 students in North Dakota that received the 2011 Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills Challenge Award.

He enjoyed playing guitar and having a band with his friends. He loved working on computers, cars, and always tried to make new inventions. He had the biggest brightest smile that would capture everyone's heart.

Matt is survived by his parents, Perry and Karen Finck, Jamestown, ND; 2 brothers and 1 sister, Andy Finck, David Finck, both of Fargo, ND; Carissa Finck, Jamestown, ND; his grandparents, Roger and Betty Starkey, and Irene Finck, all of Jamestown, ND, also many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, 3 uncles and 2 aunts.

The funeral service will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday May 27, 2011 at the Jamestown Civic Center in Jamestown, ND.

Viewing/Visitation - 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. Thursday @ the funeral home

I am going to miss you alot Matt. I always had fun with you when we were together. You were my Matt that I never had. If Haley was going to be a boy, she would have been named Matt. I will always remember your mom called me while she was in labor and asked if she could name you Matt because she knew I liked that name. I told her yes !! and I am glad she did. May God be with you my dearest Matt and may you finally rest in peace !! I love you, your Aunt Laureen
