Frieda Schmierer, 99, Jamestown, ND died Saturday May 28, 2011 at the Ave Marie Nursing Home in Jamestown, ND.

Frieda Horn was born May 15, 1912 at Robinson, ND, the daughter of Karl Horn and Maria (Needens) Horn. She received her elementary education in the Robinson area and helped on the family farm.

She and Gust Schmierer were married October 15, 1932 at Jamestown, ND. They made their home on a farm 8 miles northeast of Gackle, ND until retirement from farming. They moved to Gackle in 1963. They moved to Jamestown in 1984. After the death of her husband in 1988, she continued to reside in Jamestown. She entered the Ave Marie November 1, 2007..

She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist in Jamestown, ND.

She is survived by 2 sons, Dennis (Sharon) Schmierer,Jamestown, ND; Quentin (Gloria) Schmierer, Rochester, MN; Delphine (Max) Ortner, Los Angeles, CA; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and 1 granddaughter, Linda Schmierer.

The funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday June 3, 2011 in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Darren Purdy officiating

Interment: SDA Cemetery NE of Gackle, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Thursday June 2, 2011 in the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND.

Dr. Shakespeare and myself would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy to the family on your loss. It is so hard to lose a mother, no matter what the age. May God continue to give you comfort and peace in knowing that she is just resting and that you will see her again on that "great resurrection morning", when there will be no more pain or loss. Our deepest sympathy. I did see your mother at the Nursing Home at times but she did not know me. I recall having a nice visit with her with Bill's mother when she was in Gackle at the Care Center. We were gone last week so did not get to the funeral home. Bill & LaVina Kleese

Dear Family, I wanted to express my deepest sympathy and concern for you and also share with you the wonderful hope for our dead loved ones. As you grieve Frieda's death, please reflect on the hope in question, which comes from Jehovah God. By means of the Bible, God allows us to understand how He'll eliminate death for good one day and bring our dead loved ones back to life. This is evident in Scriptures like (Isaiah 25: 8), (John 5: 28), (1 Corinthians 15:26), (Revelation 21:3 and 4), which can comfort you in this time of sorrow. God's promises are guaranteed because He cannot lie. Moreover John 11 verses 11-14, 39, 43, and 44 attests that Jesus, whom God appoints to bring the dead back to life, can do it since he did it when he resurrected Lazarus and several others when he was on earth. As you await Frieda's resurrection, please heed Jesus' counsel in John 17 verse 3 by taking steps to gain accurate knowledge of God and Jesus through a Bible study with the Jehovah's Witnesses. In John 5 verse 39, Jesus explains that such study is imperative if one wishes to have everlasting life one day here on earth, which will become a paradise where you can be re-united with Frieda again in a world free of violence, war, sickness, old age etc (Ps 37: 9-11 and 29), (Psalms 46: 8 and 9), (Isaiah 33:24), (Job: 33:25).
