Lorraine Kleingartner

Lorraine Kleingartner, 89, Gackle, ND died Wednesday morning August 31, 2011 at the Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND.

Lorraine Mueller was born November 30, 1921 at Kulm, ND, the daughter of John J. Mueller and Louise (Doering) Mueller. She received her education in the Kulm schools and graduated from Kulm High School in 1939. She took a written test and received her teaching certificate and taught country school for 6 years.

She and Rupert Kleingartner were married May 1, 1947 at the Congregational Church in Kulm, ND. They made their home on a farm 9 miles South of Gackle where they have lived and farmed their entire life. After the death of Rupert in 2009 she continued to reside there. She entered the Gackle Care Center January of 2011, and in July she moved into the Ave Maria Village.

Lorraine enjoyed visiting with friends, cooking German food for her boys, reading, playing Bingo and doing crossword and word find puzzles. Her greatest joy was her family and she was very excited to have a great grandson, Matthew.

She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Gackle, ND. She was a charter member of the Guiding Light Society and taught Sunday school. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and also a charter member of the Kulm Alumni Association.

She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Gary (Virginia) Kleingartner, Detroit Lakes, MN; Alan (Peggy) Kleingartner, Gackle, ND; 1 grandson, Aaron (Kari) Kleingartner, West Fargo, ND; 1 great grandson, Matthew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rupert, 5 brothers, Albert, Otto, Paul, Edwin and Eldon.

The Memorial service will be at 10:30 AM, Monday September 5, 2011 at the First United Church of Christ in Gackle, ND with Rev. Tim Blackman, officiating.

The interment will be at the Gackle Cemetery in Gackle, ND.

The family will be receiving friends the evening of Sunday September 4, 2011 between the hours of 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Gackle, ND.
