Obituary
Ella Herr, 97, Wishek, ND, died early Wednesday morning December 21, 2011 at the Wishek Home for the Aged in Wishek, ND.
Ella Frisch was born February 28, 1914 at Hilda, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Alexander Frisch and Rose (Albrecht) Frisch. Following the death of her parents in 1918 she lived in an orphanage until 1919 when she came to the United States and settled with the Andrew Bertsch family south of Ashley, ND. She received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the Ashley vicinity.
She and Godfrey Herr were married March 26, 1931 at Wishek, ND. They made their home on a farm in the Beaver Creek area until 1966 when they moved into Wishek for their retirement. They entered the Wishek Home for the Aged in November of 2000. Following the death of her husband on June 8, 2001, she continued to reside in Wishek.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wishek, Ladies Aid, Homemakers and was a deaconess for a number of years.
She is survived by 2 sons, Harley (Zelda) Herr and Dwight (Bonita) Herr, both of Jamestown, ND; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 daughter, Darlene Fischer in 1966 and 2 brothers and 1 sister.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday December 27, 2011 at the First Baptist church in Wishek, ND with Rev. Elton LaBree, officiating.
The interment will be at the Wishek City Cemetery in Wishek, ND.
Visitation: Monday 1 PM - 7 PM at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Wishek, ND.
