Obituary

Ruby Presler, 81, Gackle, ND died Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the Gackle Care Center.

Ruby was born September 12, 1943, at Fredonia, ND the daughter of Albert and Esther (Messner) Buerkle. She grew to womanhood in the area, attended school and graduated from Kulm High School in 1964.

In her working years she owned the Kulm Tastee-Freez and worked at Fargo Assembly, on the assembly line where she retired from. She spent some winters down south where she worked for various businesses.

She enjoyed socializing with family and friends, camping, fishing, travel, and the Tastee Freeze.

Ruby is survived by one sister, Norma Himmerich and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Ruby was cremated per her wishes; no services will be held. She will be interred at the Lutheran Cemetery north of Fredonia, ND.

I remember Ruby when her and her husband oved th Tastee Freeze to Kulm. I helped her clean for a day, she paid me with a hot fudge sundae. She always remembered me when I would stop by later in life. God bless you Ruby.

I have too many memories to share but i can say this we were friends since the 70’s and along the way we did part ways because of me moving to several different places but eventually connected again RIP Ruby

I had the privilege of working for Ruby one summer at the Tastee Freez. She was a great employer. My first job. I’m so glad she gave me a chance to work.

I remember Ruby owning the Tastee Freeze in Kulm. She was fun, hardworking and always had a good story or joke to tell. Fun hangout with lots of good memories.

Ruby Do! We had wonderful times at the freez, traveling to Dominica and coming with me to VA to interview for my job. We had a nice visit in July.
