Obituary
Elroy Lyle Buerkle, 65, Lignite, ND died Wednesday August 29, 2012 at the St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.
Elroy was born November 24, 1946 at Fredonia, ND, the son of Albert Buerkle and Esther (Messner) Buerkle. He attended Fredonia Public School and graduated from Kulm High School in 1964. He worked for WW Walworks in Fargo.
He and Caryn Stromstad were married September 9, 1967 at Fargo, ND. They made their home in Fargo where he later went to work at Butler Machinery as a heavy diesel mechanic. In the 1970's they moved to Columbus, ND where he worked in the coal mines as a diesel mechanic. They moved to Lignite and started the Buerkle Heavy Equipment Co. He worked in ND, MT, CA and has continued to operate the company since.
He is survived by his wife, Caryn, Lignite, ND; 2 children, Dwight (Brenda) Buerkle; Cheri (Greg) Hoglund, all of Williston, ND; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Halter; Cierra Aamodt; Brittni Aamodt; Dylan Hoglund; Cordell Buerkle Buerkle; 2 sisters, Norma Himmerich, Fargo, ND and Ruby Pressler, Nortonville, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother in infancy.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Haut Funeral Chapel at Jamestown, ND with Rev. Suzie Orlopp, officiating.
The interment will be made in the Martin Luther Lutheran Cemetery, Fredonia, ND.
