Obituary

Evangeline M. Kleingartner, 74, Jamestown, ND died early Wednesday morning June 12, 2013 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center in Jamestown, ND.

Evangeline Schweigert was born March 11, 1939 at Java, SD, the daughter of Lukas Schweigert and Emma (Seidel) Schweigert. In 1942 she moved with her parents to the Kulm, ND area and in 1947 moved to Fredonia. She received her elementary education in the Fredonia Public School.

She and Walter Kleingartner were married November 23, 1954 in Fredonia, ND. They made their home NW of Fredonia where they farmed. In 1994 they moved into Fredonia and in August of 2006 they moved to Jamestown, ND. Walter passed away November 20, 2006.

She was a member of the Nazareth Congregational Church in Fredonia. She was very active in the Fredonia Senior Center, enjoyed doing crafts, embroidering, collecting elephants, gardening and flowers. She especially enjoyed her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her 3 sons, Douglas (Sue) Kleingartner, Fargo, ND, Russell (Kim) Kleingartner, Jamestown, ND, Michael (Jenny) Kleingartner, Gwinner, ND, 3 daughters, Carol (Dave) Stringer, Ft. Collins, CO, Patty (Monte) Williams, New Rockford, ND, Karen(Bryan) Batsch, Gackle, ND, 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 brothers, 1 sister and 1 sister-in-law Gordon (Adeline) Schweigert, Hutchinson, KS, Eyvone Freyholtz, Fargo, ND, Charlotte Schweigert, Enderlin, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 brothers Marlyn and Darrel, 1 daughter in infancy.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Monday June 17, 2013 in the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Rev. Bernie Jasken, officiating.

Interment will be made in the Congregational Cemetery at Fredonia, ND.

Visitation: 1-5 Saturday, 1-7 Sunday and 1 hour before service on Monday at the funeral home.

I would like to express my sincere sympathy to Evangeline's family. I am her cousin. My mother was Erna Schweigert Jund, a sister to your grandfather, Lucas Schweigert. Your mother and dad used to come to Zeeland to visit my parents years ago. I have not seen Evangeline since your grandpa's funeral. My mother always enjoyed seeing your mom and visiting with her. It was the only contact she had with Lucas' family. I called Evangeline when my mother passed away in June, 2005. She was unable to attend the funeral because she was having health problems. May she rest in peace.

To the entire of Vangie Kliengartner; I am so so sorry for the news of your loss. My girls and I are praying for you all. I will always remember your moms, grandmothers fabulous smile. She always made everyone feel so welcomed no matter who they were or where they came from. I will treasure all the spectacular stories she has shared with me over the years when I lived in Fargo. I will treasure all my memories of your mother the rest of my life. I share your moms wonderful stories with my girls and grand children. Rest in Peace my dear friend! Douglas, Russell, Carol, Patty, Karen, Michael and families. Our thoughts are with you. Evangeline was a wonderful lady. Even though we live far from ND, she always expressed a genuine interest in our lives. We also recall her positive outlook on life and for others. She will be missed.
