Willie E. Koepplin, 101, Wishek, ND died Thursday evening July 25, 2013 at the Wishek Living Center in Wishek, ND.
Willie Koepplin was born September 7, 1911 on the family farm 5 miles south of Lehr, ND, the son of Edward Koepplin and Christine (Goebel). He received his elementary education at the local rural school and grew to manhood in the vicinity.
He and Esther Werth were married March 17, 1935 in Lehr, ND. They made their home in a farm south of Lehr until 1954 when they moved into Lehr. In 1992 they moved to Wishek, ND. Following the death of his wife in 2004, he continued to reside in Wishek later entering the Wishek Living Center.
Willie was a life-long member of the Lehr Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was involved with several occupations during his life, including farming, heating Oil delivery, clerking for local merchants and janitorial services.
Although he and Esther didn't have children of their own, they were "second parents" to several nieces and nephews living in the area, supplying ample amounts of love and discipline, whichever was needed at the time.
He is survived by one sister Alma Gibbs, Yountville, CA, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, 2 half-sisters and 1 half -brother.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday July 31, 2013 at the Dakota Room at the Wishek Living Center in Wishek, ND.
Visitation 1 hour before the services.
The interment will be held at the Lehr Cemetery in Lehr, ND.
