Esther Knoll

Esther Knoll, 88, Wishek, ND died Early Wednesday morning August 28, 2013 at the Wishek Living Center in Wishek, ND.

Esther Schauer was born November 24, 1924 on the family farm 6 miles west of Wishek, ND, the daughter of John Schauer and Christina (Kessel) Schauer. She received her education in the rural McIntosh County schools and the Salem school district.

She and Vernon Knoll were married January 9, 1949 at Wishek, ND. They made their home on the Knoll family farm raising grain, dairy and stock cattle and also sheep until 1996 when they retired and lived on the farm until moving to Wishek. Following the death of her husband in 2006 Esther continued to reside in Wishek.

She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Wishek. She taught Sunday school for many years. She was a White Cross Chairman and Sunday School Superintendent, and she was a member of Women's Missionary Fellowship.

Surviving are her children, Helen Fischer, Loveland, CO, Rene (Stacie) Knoll, Minco, OK, two grandchildren, Steven and Kristin of Loveland, CO, one brother Ervin Schauer, Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Gideon C., Gottlieb, Walter and number of brothers and sisters in infancy.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 Tuesday September 3, 2013 in the First Baptist Church in Wishek, ND with Pastor Dennis Johnson and Clayton Schaeffer, officiating.

Interment will be made in the Lehr City Cemetery, Lehr, ND
