Obituary

Viola Domke, 84, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday night January 8, 2014 at the Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND.

Viola Gienger was born September 22, 1929 at Gackle, ND, the daughter of Paul G. Gienger and Martha (Wolf) Gienger. She received her elementary education in the Gackle School System.

She and Ernest Domke were married September 4, 1949 at Gackle, ND. They made their home in Fargo, Edgeley and in 1957 moved to Gackle where they operated the Dry Cleaners. In 1960 they moved to Jamestown where she briefly worked as a Maid and Bookkeeper at the Gladstone Hotel. She then started working as an Administrative Ward Clerk at the North Dakota State Hospital until her retirement in 1991. In 1993 she started working with her daughter-in-law Sally at Main Street Ceramics until 1998. Following the death of her husband in 2007, she continued to reside in Jamestown. In February of 2011 she entered Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor where she has resided.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND. She enjoyed making crafts and attending craft shows, passing that characteristic on to her grandchildren. She enjoyed painting ceramics, needle work/Quilting, canning and spending time with grandchildren. She really enjoyed time spent with her ladies lunch bunch.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Cheryl Dewald, 1 son, Keith (Sally) Domke, all of Jamestown, ND; 5 grandchildren, Mallory (Justin) Bear, Megan Dewald, Alyssa Dewald, Nichole and Dawson Domke, 2 brothers and 1 sister, Edmund (Allegra) Gienger, College Place, WA, Alton (Joan) Gienger, Vashon, WA, Darlene (Larry) Christenson, Banning, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Adeline Wentz.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30AM Monday January 13, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Erik Weber, officiating.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the Funeral Home.

Visitation 1-8 Sunday at the funeral home

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown, ND. (SPRING)
