Auntie Emma, You were the neatest lady and I'm so glad to have called you family. I always enjoyed our visits, laughs and your wonderful cooking!!! I'm so glad we had gotten to spend more time together the last few years. You will always have a special place in my heart. Now I bet you and John will go fishing :) Love and hugs

One of my favorite memories as a little girl was fishing with my Aunt Emma & Uncle John. Then came choking on fish bones so they starting cooking me fresh fish eggs. Little did I know then how they were spoiling me with caviar at an early age! She would make the best pork chops and sauerkraut with homemade bread and cinnamon rolls. We definitely can't forget her vodka infused plums either..yumm! I am so proud of her for being so self sufficient and living on her own until her young age of 92. I am going to miss our phone conversations and her stories on how she won again at the casinos! It's a sad time for her passing and she being the last of my Dad's (Ben Wittmer) generation. We love you very much Aunt Emma! You will truly be missed and will stay in our hearts forever. Love & Huggs.. Jim & Cindi Knebel

I just keep thinking of Grandma Amelia Wittmer & I can see her smiling and saying, "Finally all my children are home". Aunt Emma was soft as a newborn baby and hard as steel when she needed to be. I loved her so much. I learned so much from her. She was a wonderful lady who lived her values. She was always a giver; not a taker. I am so very proud to be her niece. The song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" keeps playing in my mind...I know she is somewhere where the fishing is good and she and Uncle John are pulling in the big ones.
