Wilfred Henke

Wilfred Henke, 93, Jamestown, ND, formerly of Streeter, ND died Friday September 4, 2020 at Eventide at Hi-Acres.

Wilfred was born April 3, 1927 at the family farm home near Fredonia, ND the son of Fredrick and JoHanna (Schneider) Henke. He attended the local rural school where he received his elementary education and grew to manhood.

He entered the United States Army October 26, 1950 at Fargo, ND, served in Korea and was discharged July 25, 1952 at Camp McCoy, WI, with the rank of PFC.

Wilfred Henke and Jane Flaig were married October 2, 1950 at Jamestown, ND.  They made their home on a farm Northeast Streeter, ND.  In 2006 they moved to Jamestown where they have resided. Following the death of his wife in 2017, he remained in Jamestown.

He was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Streeter, ND. 

Wilfred is survived by 2 children, Gloria Liebold, Jamestown, ND, Harlen (Susie) Henke, Gackle, ND; 5 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Art Henke, Jamestown, ND and Melvin (Clara) Henke, Bullhead City, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 1 grandson, Scott, 6 brothers, 1 sister and 3 siblings in infancy.
