Violena Moos, 86, Jamestown, ND died Friday August 24, 2012 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown, ND.

Violena Schweitzer was born April 19, 1926 at Fredonia, ND, the daughter of John Schweitzer and Ottilia (Reibhagen) Schweitzer. At the age of 3 weeks, her family moved to a farm 3 miles East of Alfred, ND. She received her elementary education at the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.

She and Philip Moos were married October 20, 1946 at the Congregational Church in Gackle, ND. They made their home on a farm Southeast of Gackle for 2 years, then to a farm Southwest of Gackle until 1959 when they moved into Jamestown, ND. In 1962 she began working at Jamestown Hospital as a nurse's aide. She retired February of 1980 because of health reasons. Philip passed away September 22, 1994. She entered Rock of Ages May of 2007 and Eventide at Hi-Acres in Nov of 2009.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist church in Jamestown, ND. She was also a member of the German Heritage Singers and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed Quilting, sewing, baby sitting and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Verna V. Moos, Omaha, TX; Shirley Jean (Jerome) Huck, Jamestown, ND. 2 grandchildren, Eric (Crystal) Huck, Fort Greely, AK; Phoenix (Jeremy) Rudolph, Wimbledon, ND, 4 great grandchildren, Troy, Ryan, Brittnie and Taylor Rudolph and Maximillian Jerome Huck to be born soon. One brother Walter (Fini) Schweitzer, Newhall, CA; three sisters, Marcella Schulz, Park City, IL; Matilda Kurtz, Hopkins, MN; Cecelia Pappas, Denver, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1brother, Harold, 3 sisters, Alice, Selma and Hilma.

The Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday August 29, 2012 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Jamestown, ND with Chaplain David Fisher, officiating.

The interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown, ND.
Visitation: 9-8 Tuesday at the Funeral Home
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM TUESDAY at the Funeral Home.
