Obituary

Viola M Seitz, 90, Jamestown, ND died early Friday morning September 25, 2020 at Eventide in Jamestown.

Viola Maria Weispfenning was born November 28, 1929 on the family farm outside Fredonia, ND, the daughter of Otto and Mathilda (Rath) Weispfenning.

She attended the Fredonia school until 8th grade and then received her GED later in life.   At the age of 16 the family moved to Jamestown where she began working as a waitress.

She and Henry (Hank) Julius Seitz were married June 20, 1950 at the St. James Catholic Church in Jamestown, ND.  They made their home in Mandan for 6 months and then moved back to Jamestown.  Viola worked as a waitress at multiple locations such as the Majestic Café, VFW club, Pantry Café, Holiday Inn and the Elks Club.

She was a member of the Basilica of St. James.  Viola was a loving Wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who all made her life complete.

Her love is known and memory held dear by her surviving family, children, Catherine (Rich) Fuchs, Mora, MN; Barbara (Bernie) Boyle, Oakes, ND; Margaret (Dwight) Frazer, Fargo, ND; Janet (Curt) Janke, Jamestown, ND; Mark (Tracy) Seitz, Jamestown, ND; John (Melissa) Seitz, Hawley, MN; Tom (Jan) Seitz, Bismarck, ND; Sarah Skjeret, Ankeny, IA; David Seitz, Fargo, ND; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Seitz, Fargo, ND; sisters Darlene (Ron) Tompt, Idaho; Hildie Johnson, MT; brothers, Rodger Weispfenning, CO; and Norman Weispfenning, IA.  22 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. 2 sisters-in-law, Carol Weispfenning and Edna Weispfenning.


Viola was preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry (Hank); sons, Robert and Timothy; grandson Ian Frazer; great grandchildren, Raylan and Evangeline Seitz; sisters, LoRayne Harrington, Anna Olson, Lillian Sundheim, Elsie Weispfenning; brothers, Clarence, Milton, Roland and Howard.

Viola was an amazing wonderful and beautiful lady. I didnt know her in her younger years only met her once she became as a resident of Roseadele. I loved our conversations together each day and they would always consist of her family as each of you were her pride and joy! Vi may you be at peace I will always treasure our time together

Jan, your mom was so sweet. I remember going to the VFW on Friday nights and having steak and lobster. Your mom was the best waitress. Im so sorry for your loss. I know God will enfold in his loving arms.
