Sonja Schumacher

Sonja Schumacher, 64, Jamestown, ND died Saturday morning September 28, 2013 at Eventide at Hi-Acres.

Sonja Flemmer was born July 17, 1949 at Pettibone, ND the daughter of Pete Flemmer and Leona (Myers) Flemmer. She attended the local school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.

She and Joseph Schumacher were married December 21, 1966 at Pettibone, ND. They made their home in Wimbledon later in Pingree, ND. They returned to Pettibone to reside on her parents homestead. In 1984 she moved to Jamestown where she was an Underwriter for Opland Insurance and National Ag Underwriters. She retired in 2006 and has continued to reside in Jamestown. She entered Eventide at Hi-Acres in June of 2013.

Sonja has had a passion for Elvis memorabilia and a lifelong desire to visit Graceland which came true in 2003 with her daughter Nicole. Sonja loved spending time with family and friends especially attending children and grandchildren sporting events and activity.

She is survived by her children, Shawn (Kathy) Schumacher, Jamestown, ND, Bradley (Stacy) Schumacher, Pettibone, ND, Mark (Jennifer) Schumacher, Jamestown, ND, Nicole (Cory) Snyder, Sheridan, WY, 8 grandchildren, Michael Brewer, Cruz Schumacher, Ashley Guthmiller, Amanda Thoemke, Joseph Gene Schumacher, Devin Schumacher, Kasey and Lacey Koropatnicki, 3 sisters and 2 brothers, Sharon (Larry) Hesch, Carrington, ND, Colleen (Irvin) Guthmiller, Lacrosse, WI; Larry Flemmer, Milwaukee, WI; Lynn (Karen) Flemmer, Barlow, ND; Garnet (Donnie) Krueger, Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 sister Yvonne Young.

Funeral Service - 10:30 AM Tuesday October 1, 2013 in the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.

Interment - Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND

Visitation - 1-7PM Monday @ the funeral home
