I met Shirley wheh we moved to Jamestown 15 years ago, and I signed up for adult swimming exercise at the Y. What a delightful lady, and from the beginning I admired her stamina, zest for life, and certainly ability to do all those swimming exercises! Alas, I didn't stay with it after a couple of years, but whenever I'd see her in the community, she said she was still swimming. And I admired her all the more. Kathy Huber

I only got to know Shirley for a short while, but she was an amazing woman. I feel blessed that she was a part of my life and will miss her warm smile and kind heart. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hello; I ran across your mother's Obituary today online today. I just wanted to let you know that my wife Lisa and myself are sorry for your loss. We met Shirley and her husband years 25 years ago when we were married. We lived in the same apartment with them in northern Jamestown. After we moved into a house, we would stop in and visit every Halloween with them. They loved to see our two little girls. My mother Patty Barnick, also bowled with her. She was a wonderful lady. My memories of Shirley came from the YMCA where I worked and she generously volunteered. She was such a positive person for our members and staff. She led by example for many of us and always seemed to enjoy her time at the Y in the water teaching others. My heartfelt condolences to her family.
